Students : Opportunity to attend the CMA 149th General Council

The Quebec Medical Association (QMA) in partnership with the Federation médicale étudiante du Québec (FMEQ) is proud to present a unique and unprecedented opportunity for medical students from the four faculties of medicine in Quebec to join us at the Westin Bayshore in Vancouver, Canada from August 21-24 for the 149th annual Canadian Medical Association General Council meeting.

The specific topics of focus at this year’s council are:

  1. Health consequences of climate change
  2. Integrated care: lessons and opportunities
  3. Strengthening resilience in medical training and practice: moving from rhetoric to practice

This year the “Student Ambassador Program” has expanded as a way to increase student participation and representation in the important medical leadership, policy development and advocacy work done by the CMA at the General Council (GC).  The Quebec Medical Association has decided to sponsor deserving students as “Ambassadors” through this program. Selected students will have the opportunity to attend all General Council sessions and workshops, including most social events, and will also participate in sessions specifically designed for them. Flight, hotel, meals and costs of participating in the conference will be covered for the selected Ambassadors.

Interested students are invited to apply by sending a brief statement of interest (one page) along with a resumé to: claudie.dandurandbolduc@amq.ca by July 15, 2016.
