About

QC CWC pos

Choosing Wisely Canada (CWC) is a campaign to help clinicians and patients engage in conversations about unnecessary tests, treatments and procedures and make smart and effective choices to ensure high-quality care. Since its inception, the QMA has partnered with CWC to develop the French branch of the campaign, Choisir avec soin.

Regional networks have been established in order to spread the campaign on a provincial scale. As a Québec leader, the QMA has been mandated to bring together various partner organizations to establish the Choosing Wisely Quebec network. This is a unique opportunity to develop a province-wide vision about the relevance of medical care and take concrete steps to fight overdiagnosis.

More specifically, Choosing Wisely Quebec is tasked with:

  • Bringing together partners to establish an action plan that will lead to sustainable change regarding unnecessary tests and examinations.
  • Supporting local initiatives.
  • Educating and raising awareness about overuse and overdiagnosis among patients.
  • Collaborating with the Choosing Wisely Canada campaign and various regional networks in other provinces to share knowledge and best practices.
