The Québec Medical Association is a partner of the Canadian Medical Association (CMA), a national federation that brings together 12 independent provincial and territorial medical associations. The CMA is the national voice for over 75,000 Canadian physicians and a preferred place for discussion and action, providing quality health care and optimal medical practice. The QMA and the CMA have a membership and joint services exclusively for physician members.

The QMA offers two types: scholarships and bursaries.
Four scholarships – one per faculty of medicine – are granted at the annual convention in April. The recipients are chosen by a committee comprised of the associate dean for student affairs and a representative of the QMA Students Group at each of the four universities.
Twelve bursaries – three per faculty of medicine – are granted in November every year in collaboration with the Canadian Medical Foundation. They are intended to provide financial support for medical students who need assistance in order to continue their studies. Recipients are selected by the student financial assistance office of each faculty.
